Victor Otto: I was not in R-division but I remember You well. I remember for instance, having some good conversations and discovering that We both knew some folks in Bayview Alabama. Cannot recall those folk's name now. I remember the time You got tired of waiting for the liberty launch to go back to ship from Grande Island, and decided to swim back to Cubie Point Air Base, and did so, got picked up walking down the runway. I remember Radcliff ragging You about Your ragged underware. All in good fun. Radcliff was a charactor I will not forget also. I also remember You letting Me practice welding in the fitters shop after all Our duties for the Day were done, which in it's self was a major task. The Mars was a workhouse while in support of the Vietnam war. Thanks for letting Me weld, the skill served Me well in the Years since. I remember most everyone in the Engineering Divisions, but have had limited contact with most. Friend and shipmate James Holland A-Div. 63-67

Victor: I have no knowledge of the where abouts of Mr. Thomas. I became a skilled welder along with multiple other crafts that I worked in. Had a long career in Paper Mills, and became the Electrical and Instrumentation superintendent for about 10 Year before retirement. I still work as consultant, and sometimes on maintenance outages. I am able bodies and enjoy working. I will make a whole hearted attempt to be in Pittsburg for the next reunion. No one knows the future for sure, but planning is a first step. Good to hear from old Friends and ship mates. Until later James Holland J. C. is what I am commonly called.

Cruzman and Ghostship, Try ZabaSearch.com to locate your friends. There is a John M. Phelan listed at muliple addresses in Texas. David G. Murphy has a couple of addresses listed in St. Paul. Hope this helps. Tony Winslett '63
