Hey Shipmates,
I promised to get this info out sooner, but things kept getting in the way. I don't have the final price tags worked out yet, but will have that by mid-June and into the newsletter as well as out to you by that time.
Wednesday, October 13: Arrival day. Hospitality suite available from 1200 to 2200. Pick up registration packets. Dinner is on your own.
Thursday, October 14: Bus to ferry and ferry to Pier 39 in San Francisco. Maritime National Museum/USS Pompanito/SS Jerimiah O'Brien, Musee Mechanique or other attractions at the area such as Art Galleries or the Aquarium. Lunch and Dinner on own.
Friday, October 15: Bus to Potomac at Jack London, possibly the Alameda Air Museum then to USS Hornet Museum and lunch on Hornet. Dinner and raffle. I'm working with Rock Wall winery to do the event at their new facility.
Saturday, October 16: Morning business meeting and essentially a free day. Golfing is nearby at Corica in Alameda, local wineries (Rosenblum, Irish Monkey, Dashe and JC and Rock Wall), Oakland Museum. Dinner at Coast Guard Island with Guest Speaker. Might do raffle here if Friday doesn't work out.
Sunday, October 17: Departure. There is some interest in Monterey that day. I'm taking a former ship from Monterey down for the day and probably an over night. Hampton Inn & Suites, 1700 Harbor Bay Parkway is the center of events (510) 521-4500. Group Name USS Mars, Group Code USR
